We are stuck in Kaz. It is hard to be pleasant sometimes. These are the things that make us happy:
Maksim's laugh when we chase him in the park. THE GREATEST!!
The park and many tulips across the street from our apartment.
Knowing that our dog is waiting for us patiently.
Our family because they call us and write us and tell us they love us.
Sleeping Maksim (what is it about sleeping babies?)
Emails and posts from home - so what are you all waiting for??? Just kidding. Not really.
Knowing that there is something more powerful than us in the Universe.
Sorry no pics. I know it sucks to read when there are none - but battery issues have gotten us down. We lost our rechargeables in the move to Almaty along with several of Maksim's shirts. Hmmm...
We are making great strides with learning to become parents. We are making some strides with Maksim's attachement to us. We are eating well in Almaty.
Some pics soon. We may be able to come home by next Wednesday. Not sure. We will know by tomorrow(?) Yeah right. Who knows when we will know, really.

Hi Melissa and Jason,
We are really enjoying watching your incredible journey. Maksim is such a cute and animated little boy-- I can't wait to meet him. There is a whole group of Kaz kids here in Santa Barbara that really want to meet you all when you return. I hope you get to come home sooner than expected!
Take care,
Sara Allison (Santa Barbara)
I'm a lurker usually, but I just want to post and say your blog is awesome and your little boy is adorable. The pictures you post and your stories as new parents always make me smile. Thank you for sharing so much.
Dear Melissa, Jason, and Maks,
We were so sad that we didn't get to see you guys when we were in cali... we had awesome sushi with Elizabeth and Punk though - can you say Exploding Volcano Roll? Anyway, we love you guys so much and are sending positive thoughts your way every day that you make it home soon! soon soon soon

Not much longer- you will look back on this time together and really cherish it.... honestly
Just think of how well you all are bonding before the long journey home- hang in there.. the three of you will be home before you know it
