We went to Santa Cruz island for a couple of days. Dad did a little work setting some traps and diving up some cukes - but mostly we just played. We hiked on the island, kayaked, and even did some snorkeling. I was terrified of the water this time for some reason - but was still brave enough to swim after Dad coaxed me. We saw porpoise squalls, dolphin, seals, sea lions, sardine schools, barracuda, beautiful orange Garibaldi, an octopus (which we brought for a ride) and of course, cukes. The sunset on the first night was gorgeous - oohhh - the purples and oranges - my favorite colors.
The first times we tried to take Maks on the boat were too scary. He just didn't understand enough to be safe. This time was such a different story.
It was an amazing family bonding trip and we can't wait to do it again.
